We do like our pop stars in America. I’m not sure that it is truly idolatry, but we sure spend a lot of time and $$$ lifting up people and things that simply don’t make a lot of sense.
I’m glad to hear that MJ took a great portion of his wealth and tried to use it for charitable purposes. He wasted a ton of money as well, though.
Judgement is not ours – but discernment in our actions; what can we do differently, or how can we learn from this? What opportunities are presenting themselves because of the passing of MJ?
I am not convinced there will be another pop start of the magnitude of MJ. The Internet and technology are to blame for that. Now our young people can have a 1000 idols – and we never even hear about them.
